After 15 years of writing and editing offbeat fiction, I bring more than just a quirky imagination and a love of language to my work. Planning, writing, revising and marketing novels and story collections give me a strong handle on project management. Working with writers and editors taught me some great collaborative and evaluative skills. And as it turns out, a hatred of typos and a love for beautiful book covers also comes in handy.

Now I have some new loves: technical writing and document design. Tech writing brings my facility for organization and teamwork in line with my love for conceptual thinking, structure and, yes, writing. And document design is just plain satisfying, giving me the chance to play with both software and aesthetics.

“You were a HUGE help. My right hand. I owe you a bottle of Redbreast or something better." —Jena Snyder, production editor, The Advocate, Alberta College of Social Workers

“Holly is professional, provides excellent constructive feedback and is very creative. I believe she will be a great asset to any team!”  —Lorraine Taylor, Regional Training Co-ordinator, Primary Care Paramedic Program, Division of Health Sciences, Justice Institute of BC

"Rarely, have I worked with someone who was so organized and able to communicate design and editing instructions with such clarity and, gratefully, humour. This is especially significant as we had never met in person so her ability to work virtually was a great blessing and a real treat."  —Kelly Parry, Depiction Writing and Design
